Owen Newman Joins Emburse As Chief Financial Officer
Newman brings 25 years of experience in technology, payments, and services as Emburse continues its growth and innovation journey
DALLAS, September 22, 2025 — Emburse, the company defining Expense Intelligence through AI-powered travel and spend orchestration, today announced that it has named Owen Newman as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Newman brings extensive experience in strategic growth initiatives, including M&A and joint ventures, and in helping fintech and payments businesses scale globally.
Prior to joining Emburse, Newman served as CFO at Greenphire, which provides financial management and patient support technology for clinical trials. There, he drove strong organic financial growth and played a pivotal role in integrating the business following its merger with Suvoda, doubling the company’s scale while strengthening profitability. Newman also served in CFO roles at Simeio, ACI Worldwide, Paycommerce, and International SOS. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Newman has motivated and managed highly successful teams, strengthening financial operations across the technology, payments, and services industries.
He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Newman will provide financial leadership at a pivotal time for Emburse’s Expense Intelligence vision, helping finance teams realize the full potential of corporate spend as a strategic lever. Just last month, Emburse was named to the Inc. 5000 list representing the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S., as well as a Leader in three IDC MarketScape reports for AI-Enabled Travel and Expense Applications across Small Business, Midmarket and Enterprise. Newman’s focus will allow the company to scale its AI capabilities and continue to evolve with the highest standards of precision, accountability, and adaptability.
“Owen’s proven leadership will be a valuable addition to the team as we accelerate Emburse’s global impact,” said Marne Martin, CEO of Emburse. “I am confident that he will drive our finance operations forward as we continue delivering Expense IntelligenceTM to organizations worldwide.”
“The finance function is evolving to become more dynamic, predictive, and connected to other business areas — Emburse is well-positioned to support that shift and deliver real value for customers,” said Owen Newman, CFO of Emburse. “I look forward to working with the team to help more organizations experience the transformational benefits of intelligent spend management.”
